Chris Matthews Is Missing The Point Of The Close Bloomberg Election

I like Chris Matthews and usually enjoy his commentary on all things political, yet he’s missing the point of the close Bloomberg election.

He’s repeatedly made references to Bloomberg and Wall Street fat cats as if that supposed connection were the reason why this recent election was so close.

It’s not.

The reason why the election was so close was that New Yorker’s allowed themselves to be duped into thinking they didn’t need to get out and vote because the win was expected to be so huge and not even close.

MikeBloomberg

This election was a huge wake up call for New Yorkers in particular and everyone in general. But since the likes of Chris Matthews, who I would normally expect to hone in on the real issue here is missing the crucial point, it seems to be getting lost in the noise.

IF YOU REALLY LIKE YOUR CANDIDATE VOTE FOR HIM OR HER!

Ignore the polls and never let that sway you into the false assurance that your vote is not needed. It is!

If Bloomberg would have lost, perhaps tens of thousands of New Yorkers would have woken up feeling truly guilty that they didn’t take the time to cast their vote for someone they really like.

New York will have learned this lesson.

Chris, you should be shouting it from your pulpit as this situation is likely to replay in other places in the future. And other municipalities may not be so lucky.
